Who we are
We Do Wood was founded in Copenhagen in 2011. The company combines Scandinavian design with strict sustainability principles and works closely with local manufacturers. Its focus is on long-lasting functionality and aesthetics that will last for generations.
Our philosophy – We Do Care
Sustainability is at the heart of all our activities. We Do Wood is aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and pursues the three pillars: Planet, People, and Product. This is reflected in our carefully selected suppliers, responsible materials, and social responsibility.
Our actions – We Do Act and We Do Commit
- Strict selection of certified suppliers who guarantee fair working conditions and ecological production standards
- Use of exclusively FSC-certified wood (FSC® C138925 / GFA-COC-003142-BK)
- No chemical additives: formaldehyde-free adhesives, water-based paints or alternative surface techniques such as carbonization and oxidation
- Completely produced locally in Denmark, flat packed to minimize the ecological footprint.
Social responsibility
- Member of Tree Nation and Danmarks Naturfredningsforening to promote reforestation, nature conservation and biodiversity
- Diaconal support as part of the Red Cross Denmark Business Group through fundraising campaigns for hospitals and crisis centers
- Promoting young talent: continuous integration of interns into the team.
Craftsmanship & design quality
Each piece of furniture is the result of close collaboration with talented designers such as Michael Sebber Colfelt, Sebastian Jørgensen, Hans Thyge & Co, and Roon & Rahn. Traditional craftsmanship meets clear functionality and visual elegance.
Sustainability of materials
- Use of Moso bamboo as core material – one of the most sustainable wood resources, entirely from certified plantations without pesticides or fertilizers
- Focus on upcycling, zero-waste production and residual material recycling
- Minimal packaging, transparent supply chains and long-term design principles for durable furniture.
